John Ashmead Brodie is an author, storyteller, media professional, music producer and lifelong explorer of consciousness, creativity and human possibility. His work is guided by a central conviction:

The future is not something that simply happens to us. It is a story we get to write—together.

John’s work is not intended to provide a finished blueprint for life or the future. It is meant to offer ideas, open doors and awaken us to possibilities we may not have considered.

Across books, music, articles and community initiatives, he invites people to see themselves as active participants in the great adventure of life. He explores how our thoughts, beliefs and stories influence not only our individual experiences, but also our families, cultures and the systems we create together.

Underlying this work is a recognition of the essential interconnectedness of all life—the possibility that, much like a hologram, each part carries something of the whole and every choice sends ripples through the larger web. John’s professional journey began at age ten, performing puppet and magic shows at birthday parties for younger children. In time, the stage grew larger as his adventure led into the worlds of television, radio, music and emerging media.

After beginning as a page with NBC, he worked with NBC Television and NBC Radio before becoming Director of Music Marketing and Vice President of Business Development for the Westwood One Radio Networks. Among his many adventures was bringing Westwood One together with Harlem’s historic Apollo Theater to produce a year of monthly concert broadcasts for a national radio audience.

Throughout this journey, John became increasingly interested in the power of media and storytelling to shape our perception of reality. He saw that stories could be used to generate fear, division and helplessness—but could also awaken imagination, hope, compassion and shared purpose.

This understanding led him to establish the PositiVibes Network and, eventually, the Human Renaissance Movement: an evolving invitation to help create a more compassionate, cooperative and regenerative civilization.

John’s books explore this vision from several complementary directions.

Adventure of a Lifetime draws upon his unusual encounters, professional experiences and spiritual explorations to invite readers to live as conscious “Designers of Reality.”

The Tipping Point: Republic on the Brink examines the dangers of a society governed by fear and division while introducing the possibility of a Human Renaissance rooted in courage, compassion and unity.

Adventure at the Edge of Creation brings these ideas into an imaginative teaching story for readers of all ages. Through the adventures of Willow and Birdie in the Magic Forest, it encourages young people, families and elders to rediscover wonder, recognize the power of their choices and become caring participants in the future of life on Earth.

A Human Renaissance: A Field Guide for the Adventure expands the vision into a larger cultural invitation. It explores the movement from separation toward interdependence, extraction toward regeneration, competition toward cooperation and passive citizenship toward creative participation.

His developing work, You Are the Designer of Your Reality: An Adventure of a Lifetime in a Conscious Universe, brings together decades of inquiry into attention, perception, imagination, consciousness and shared human agency.

John’s thinking has been influenced by scientists, philosophers, spiritual teachers, Indigenous wisdom keepers, artists, educators and community builders. Rather than treating science and spirituality as opposing territories, he explores what each may contribute to a deeper understanding of consciousness, responsibility and our relationship with the living Earth.

Music is another important part of this adventure. Working as JB & Sonic Alchemists, John transforms many of these ideas into songs of hope, awakening and collective possibility. The music carries the same invitation as the books: to turn from fear toward love, remember our connection with one another and help bring a more beautiful future into being.

John also works in an openly acknowledged creative dialogue with Aion, an AI thinking partner. He sees this collaboration as an exploration of how emerging technology can support reflection, imagination and human creativity while leaving authorship, ethical judgment and responsibility firmly in human hands.

At the heart of all John’s work is a simple message: a Human Renaissance will not be delivered by one leader, organization, technology or generation. It will emerge through millions of people choosing to become good ancestors—healing relationships, strengthening communities, restoring the Earth, creating beauty and placing their gifts in service to something larger than themselves.

John lives in South Florida, where he continues to write, create music and plant seeds for a future grounded in love, joy, ecological responsibility and the recognition that we are one human family within one living world.
